Video Conference Overview
Video conferencing has been around for years, 10 years ago ISDN (telephone based) video conference devices existed at very expensive prices for what today would be considered very poor quality video and audio. Today IP (the Internet) has taken over, prices have become affordable and the quality needs to be seen to be believed.
In fact the term video conferencing has really changed to video communication, as it's no longer enough just to talk about a video conference call, today you need to ask:
- Where is the video call going to take place?
- Who is invited to the call?
- Why are you having the call?
- Who else would you like to be involved that isn't in an office?
- What other information (data, computer images, product examples) would you like to include in the video call?
- Could the call be recorded and made available later for a different audience?
These are just a few of the questions that need to be considered before deciding on the correct video conference solution for you.
